Six people were detained in Siliguri by the state CID and Bengal STF, and 2.4 kg of heroin and 3 kg of illegal synthetic substances, worth a combined total of Rs 2.4 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively, were also found. On Thursday afternoon in the Siliguri neighbourhood of Jalpaimore on Burdwan Road, heroin was found on the bus driver’s staff. Sanjay Dey (age 37), Samir Sharma (age 43), and Mukul Sarkar (age 45) are three of the accused. They are all Cooch Behar residents. F M Sakil Ahamed (19), Md Shajahan (26) and Md Dayan Hussain (24), three guys from Lilong in Manipur who were apprehended by the STF and were carrying Yaba and brown sugar, have been identified. Because of its proximity to Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, anti-narcotics officers claimed that the NE states served as drug transit routes.
