HDFC ERGO Implements PMFBY for loanee and non-loanee farmers in Tripura

HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, a leading general insurance company in India, has been authorized by the Government of Tripura to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for loanee and non-loanee farmers in the districts of Dhalai, Gomati, Khowai, South Tripura, Sepahijala, West Tripura, Unakoti and North Tripura for Kharif 2023.

The scheme will be implemented in these districts for Aman Paddy and Aush Paddy, with a Sum Insured of Rs 69041. Farmers must pay Rs.10 per Kani (upto insured area of 0.40 ha) and Rs.100 per Kani (0.40-1ha) and the State Government must bear the balance premium. This farmer’s share of the premium amount shall be claimed by the Insurance Company to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare subsequently.

The PMFBY scheme insures farmers against losses in crop yield. The state government will conduct CCEs on the notified crops to determine the loss. If the yield is low, claims will be payable to the farmers. Farmers can reach out to their respective banks, and CSCs in their district or contact the authorized HDFC ERGO agents to obtain insurance cover. The farmer may also logon to the Farmers App or opt for self-enrollment of the scheme on the website https://pmfby.gov.in/farmerLogin
