In observance of Head & Neck Cancer Day, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, launched an innovative campaign, “Have More Tea, No More Puffs,” drawing a significant response from the community. The campaign aimed to highlight the toxic effects of tobacco and promote healthier habits by distributing teacups with the slogan “Have More Tea, No More Puffs” at local tea stalls, where patrons often smoke.
The event featured an engaging session with college students, led by Dr. Rajeev Sharan, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Dr. Sohini Banerjee, and Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee. They educated the attendees on the dangers of tobacco, cancer signs, and the importance of early detection.
Mr. Prateek Jain, Regional Business Head AP & East, Healthcare Global Enterprises Ltd, remarked, “Our initiative aimed to remind the community of the harmful effects of tobacco while promoting tea as a healthier alternative. The positive response demonstrates that small actions can significantly impact public health.” Dr. Amarjeet Singh, COO of HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, added, “The campaign successfully conveyed the message of enjoying simple pleasures without harmful substances. The overwhelming response reinforces our commitment to raising awareness about tobacco dangers and cancer prevention.”
