Government Primary School (GPS), Gopibung village was inaugurated by principal director of School Education, Shanavas on January 25, in the presence of villagers, community leaders, namely Kuki Inpi Nagaland, KSO (N), Ahthibung Area GBs, and officers from DMA Peren, SDEO office Peren.
A press release by the organisers stated that, Shanavas gave a patient hearing to the report given by VEC and village council on how the school had been functioning through monetary help from villagers and well wishers. It was also conveyed that till date there has been no appointment of government teacher. Shanavas congratulated and lauded the community for their active participation in building the children’s future.
Earlier, programme was chaired by Chungminthang Singson, coordinator EBRC Ahthibung, officials of Kuki Inpi (N) and KSO (N) also delivered voluntary speeches. Vote of thanks was delivered by Lhingneikim Singsit, DEO Peren, and concluding prayer by VEC chairman, Songkholam.
Earlier, Shanavas unveiled the plaque commemorating the inauguration of GPS Gopibung. He was accompanied by dy. mission directors of Samagra Shiksha, Kelhikha Kenye and Liyalo.
