Flipkart achieves a growth of 27% of sellers on its platform since last year’s TBBD

Flipkart, in anticipation of its 10th edition of The Big Billion Days (TBBD), its annual flagship event, has achieved a significant milestone by having over 1.4 million sellers on its platform. This marks a remarkable 27% growth in the number of sellers on the platform compared to the previous year, showcasing the expanding ecosystem of sellers and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in India. The milestone reflects the trust that Indian MSMEs, small businesses, and enterprises have in Flipkart as a trusted partner for utilizing e-commerce to digitize and modernize their operations, expand their market reach, and enhance revenue.

These new sellers come from various regions across India, including metro cities as well as Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities such as Jammu, Kanyakumari, Kollam, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Thrissur, and Vellore. In a bid to empower sellers and enable them to leverage cutting-edge consumer-facing technology, Flipkart has introduced innovative tech solutions. One such service is AI Powered Cataloging, an industry-first AI-driven automated tool that transforms product images into Flipkart-standard quality in real-time. This technology eliminates the need for sellers to invest in expensive product photoshoots, as they can now utilize Flipkart’s AI-powered services as per their requirements.

Flipkart is set to kick off the festive season with its Sale Price Live (SPL) event in the coming week, specifically designed for sellers as a prelude to TBBD. To further support and engage with sellers, Flipkart Seller Hub recently organized a series of seller conclaves across major cities, including Delhi, Surat, Jaipur, Agra, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. These conclaves witnessed active participation from over 4,500 enthusiastic entrepreneurs in various informative sessions. This demonstrates Flipkart’s commitment to fostering a thriving seller community and enhancing their e-commerce capabilities.
