Flipkart Group is actively working to tackle the growing issue of India’s growing landfills

The Flipkart Group’s four facilities obtained Total Resource Use and Efficiency (TRUE) Gold accreditation for their zero waste initiatives, and in only one year, the company successfully diverted almost 3000 tons of non-hazardous solid waste. These 1.8 million square foot facilities are spread across Farrukhnagar, Uluberia, Malur, and Renaissance. By adopting the Zero trash policy and demonstrating its dedication to a circular economy, Flipkart has achieved over 97% trash reduction across all four facilities.

Flipkart Group is committed to building a sustainable future and contributing to India’s climate goals, as evidenced by its TRUE Gold certifications for its zero waste initiative. Flipkart continues to play an important role in enabling a circular economy for all paper and plastic scrap generated within its premises. The company has deployed the ‘Clean Campus movement’ at its warehouses to foster employee education and balance packaging consumption versus scrap disposal.

This initiative will help reduce the use of natural resources and greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring that generated waste does not end up in landfills. Flipkart Group’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Rajneesh Kumar, emphasized the importance of organizations taking bold actions to address climate crises.
