Flipkart and Bajaj Auto announcesgreen delivery initiative; 1000 electric three-wheelers to transform last-mile logistics

Flipkart, India’s prominent e-commerce giant, has forged a strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto Ltd., the global leader in two and three-wheelers. The collaboration aims to revolutionize last-mile delivery operations by introducing electric vehicles (EVs) into Flipkart’s fleet.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked on May 10th, Bajaj Auto commits to supplying Flipkart with 1000 state-of-the-art electric three-wheeler cargo vehicles over a span of two years. These vehicles, part of Bajaj’s esteemed E-TEC Cargo range, promise to elevate the efficiency and sustainability of Flipkart’s delivery network significantly.

Spearheading the transition towards eco-friendly logistics, Samardeep Subandh, President of Intracity Business Unit at Bajaj Auto Ltd., emphasized the strategic importance of this collaboration. He highlighted the joint commitment to fostering a 100% sustainable last-mile fleet for Flipkart, reflecting the evolving landscape of Indian e-commerce.Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience & Re-Commerce at Flipkart Group, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship. This partnership aligns with Flipkart’s ambitious pledge to transition its entire last-mile delivery fleet to EVs, as part of Climate Group’s global electric mobility initiative – EV100.
