Director Rural Development, Imnukshila on February 13 inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Farmers’ Market’ at Impur Lemjem and ‘rostrum’ at Longjang village playground, Mokokchung.
Speaking as special guest, Imnukshila congratulated the VDB secretaries of Kobulong block for successfully completing the marketing complex (marketing shed and a restaurant).
She also thanked the Walling clan of Sungratsu village for donating the site.
The special guest said that the complex would go a long way in promoting the farmers produce from the area since the site was in a strategic location. She further suggested hosting of a “marketing day” once in a week in collaboration with the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
Earlier, short speech was delivered by Sungratsu village council chairman M Taka Longchar and welcome note was delivered by Project Director, DRDA Mokokchung M Toshimongla Kichu.
The building was dedicated by Yimchalu Baptist Church pastor Anok while the vote of thanks was said by Kobulong Block VDB Association president Nungshi Aier. The programme was chaired by Kobulong Block, BDO Er. Temsu Jamir.
Meanwhile, the director while inaugurating the rostrum stated that it should host various community based activities, apart from games and sports and encouraged the villagers for a common vision towards evolving Longjang village into a ‘towship’.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by Project Director, DRDA Mokokchung Taliyanger and Barrick, Longjang village council S Imti Longchar while the welcome address was delivered by Longjang village council chairman L Chuba Jamir.
The rostrum was dedicated by Longjang Baptist Church pastor, Senti Longchar.
The programme was chaired by Longjang Baptist Church Associate Pastor Limatemsu while the vote of thanks was said by Longjang Village council Barrick S Imti Aier and a special song was presented by Sunep and Lima Imchen.
