Exclusive: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Divya Bhatnagar critical on ventilator; mother adds, “Husband has ditched her”
Divya Bhatnagar of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ is battling against COVID and her condition is serious. Her mother has come down from Delhi and unable to control her tears outside Mumbai’s SRV Hospital in Goregaon. Divya’s oxygen levels had dropped to 71. Also, it is not yet known that Divya, who had married Gagan in December last year, has been ditched by him as her mother tells us.
Talking to ETimes TV, Mrs Bhatnagar said in a choked voice, “Divya had temperature since the last six days. She was feeling very uneasy. I came down from Delhi and got an oximeter home. We checked her oxygen levels, they had dropped to 71. She is on a ventilator now, her oxygen level is about 84, and her condition is critical. The reports have just come and she has tested positive for COVID.”
And where is Divya’s husband Gagan, whom she married very happily not even a year ago? Mrs Bhatnagar, who lost her husband two years ago, claimed, “Whatever anyone may tell you, the time has come to spill the truth. Her husband was a fraud. He has left her and is not bothered to even come forward for a while. She married without informing us. I am aghast that post marriage she has been living in a very small place in Oshiwara. She was living in a big house at Mira Road earlier. She has undergone a lot in the recent past.”
Gagan is associated with showbiz and works for production houses making reality shows.
Mrs Bhatnagar’s voice rose with anger when she added to reveal that Gagan’s mother had called up the ICU a while back and merely said ‘agar aap logon ko kuch paise chahiye, toh bata dena’.
ETimes TV also has it that the production house Shashi-Sumeet Productions is helping the Bhatnagars financially; Divya happens to be doing their show ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ currently. Mrs Bhatnagar even confirmed that and said, “Yes, my son is talking to Shashi-Sumeet. They have volunteered.”
Besides ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, Divya has done shows like ‘Udaan’, ‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piyaa Morre’ and ‘Vish’ amongst others. Well, we all know that TV actors don’t have it rosy because TV pays most of them (barring some special cases of very famous ones) on daily wages, howsoever big their show is. We pray for Divya’s recovery.
