Former Amnesty chief of India Aakar Patel was stopped at the Bengaluru airport. He was about to boarding a flight to the United States.

The agency raided Amnesty India’s office in Bengaluru. There were some accusations of irregularities in foreign funding in November 2019. Due to this the CBI said that the human rights body was in violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). The CBI filed a case against Amnesty India and also against the three associate organisations.
