Two 3.9-magnitude earthquakes struck Meghalaya and Assam in less than 24 hours.
The first earthquake, recorded at 9.47 pm on Sunday, was centered at a depth of 12 km in Meghalaya’s Nongpoh area, the second at a depth of 55 km at Assam’s Nagaon.
According to reports, the earthquake was felt in parts of central and north Assam after the second earthquake hit the state at 3.22 pm on Monday.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
