DYFI calls for Uttar Kanya Abhiyan on March 28

Siliguri, Mar 28: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has announced Uttar Kanya Abhiyan on March 28 as anti-unemployment day. DYFI state secretary Meenakshi Mukherjee addressed a press conference at Anil Biswas Bhawan on Wednesday regarding the agitation.

Mukherjee said the government continues to dodge questions related to employment of job-seeking youths. She asserted that job-seekers and common people from across the state will march to Uttar Kanya on March 28 to seek answers.

She strongly criticised the state government, claiming that Bengal was lagging behind due to various issues. Besides, she raised concerns over corruption including fake medicines, alleged exploitation of land of tea garden workers and illegal extraction of sand and stone from rivers.
