A truck driver was killed in a horrific road accident on Monday morning in Barovisha on the Assam-Bengal border in Alipurduar district.
According to souces, a truck going from Kolkata to Assam hit a truck parked on the roadside in Barovisha area with a strong push from behind. The front section of the truck heavily damaged and the driver died on the spot at the accident. The driver’s body was stuck in the truck for about three hours. After much effort by cutting the front part of the police truck with a gas cutter, the driver’s body was taken out.
The body was sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem. Traffic on the road was interrupted for some time till the local police managed the situation.
