Didn’t ask teacher to quit over swimsuit pics, says VC of Kolkata’s St Xavier’s University

Amid on line campaigns aiding a former assistant professor of St Xavier’s University, who claimed she used to be pressured to end her job over some of her Instagram images in a swimsuit, its VC Father Felix Raj has rebuffed the allegation and said it was “humiliating to assume” the group would do so.

In a statement, Raj stated the university “believes in retaining and retaining the dignity and honour of its teachers, staff members, college students and others connected with it”.
The 31-year-old PhD holder, who had joined the organization in Rajarhat in August 2021, had stated she was accused of sharing “inappropriate” photos of her on Instagram through an inside disciplinary committee of the university.

The teacher, who has filed a police grievance in the matter, alleged she used to be “forced to resign” after being proven printouts of some of her Instagram photographs and informed that the father of one of the undergraduate students had taken up the rely with college authorities after discovering his son “staring” at the photos.

“It may also kindly be referred to that St Xavier’s University, Kolkata, has now not pressured any teacher to resign. And it is most humiliating to even count on that the college would pressure any teacher to resign,” he stated in a statement. He advised media persons, social media customers and others not to “malign” the institute.
