A massive fire broke out at a detergent factory in northern West Bengal’s Siliguri, and it took almost 10 hrs for the fire extinguisher to bring the blaze under control, officials told on Sunday.
Smoke was first spotted at the factory in Fulbari in the NJP police station area late on Saturday, they said. Initially, labourers of the factory attempted to extinguish the flames but when they failed to do so, the fire brigade was called.
The concrete roof of the factory was burned. No injured was found, the fire is suspected to be caused by an electrical short-circuit, officials told.
A detailed probe of the case is underway to find out the exact cause of the fire, an official said.
