Dengue outbreak has increased in Hetouda, the headquarters of Bagmati province. As many as 112 people have been infected with the disease in the last 24 hours, and one person has died from the disease in Hetouda sub-metropolitan city.
Due to overcrowding in the hospital, dengue patients are facing problems in getting treatment at Hetouda Hospital. The hospital has allocated one bed to treat two patients. As the number of dengue cases increased, patients started traveling to other places including Kathmandu and Chitwan for treatment.
1,433 men and 1,120 women have been infected with dengue in the last two months. District Health Office Information Officer Laxman Ghimire said that no dengue patient has been found in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality yet. He said dengue infection was seen in 17 unidentified people. Sabin Newpane, chairman of Ward No. 1 of Hetauda sub-metropolis, said that preparations are underway to take the dengue under control.
