New Delhi: The Intelligence agencies have alarmed a high-alert for the National Capital, with inputs suggesting that four to five terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir have sneaked in to Delhi with an intention to carry out a major terrorist attack. Delhi Police has started to search for these terrorists in all the possible places where terrorists could be hiding. The reports have suggested that while some terrorists have already entered the National capital, some are still trying to enter.
All hotels, lodges and guest houses have been put on look out by Delhi Police, with vehicles with Jammu Kashmir registration numbers also being searched for. An alert has been put in all Bus stands and railways stations in the National Capital.
A close watch is also being kept in market areas and hospitals, which are seeing a large influx of patients these days. All the 15 police districts have been put on high alert along with elite units of the Crime Branch and the Special Cell.
The alert of a possible terror attack in Delhi comes at a time, when the Forces are crushing the terror infrastructure in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir at a never seen before pace. At least 55 terrorists have been eliminated by the Forces so-far in June, with Hizbul’s longest surviving commander Riyaz Naikoo neutralised on May 6th. Forces have also eliminated the IED experts of Hizbul and Jaish in two separate encounters, in one of the significant blows to terror machinery oiled from Pakistan.
The Army had earlier stated that the ‘uncoordinated’ acts of terror are “signs of desperation” by terrorists who are finding it hard to sustain the cycle of violence in Kashmir. Switching from J&K to Delhi for a terror attack, is also being seen as another mark of desperation among terror-machinery blown upon heavily by the Forces in action.
