COVID-Vaccine for 12-14-year-olds to start from March 16; all above 60 yrs can take boosters

India will begin vaccinating youngsters aged 12 to 14 years from March sixteen as it expands its COVID-19 vaccination coverage, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya introduced on Monday. The requirement of co-morbidity for people aged 60 and up to receive a prophylactic dose will also be eliminated. Booster injections are now available to everyone in that age group.

“Union Government after due deliberations with scientific our bodies has determined to begin COVID19 vaccination for 12-13 yr and 13-14 yr age businesses (those born in 2008, 2009 and 2010. i.e those who are already above 12 years of age) of the populace from 16th March 2022,” the health ministry said in a statement.

Corbevax, made by Biological Evans in Hyderabad, would be used to give the COVID-19 vaccine.

Those over the age of 14 have already been vaccinated.
