The much-hyped G-20 summit began in Delhi on Saturday amid tight security. The theme of this India-led summit is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Following tradition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the heads of state of various countries on Saturday. After that, Narendra Modi addressed the opening stage. And there the name ‘Bharat’ is shining on the nameplate in front of the Prime Minister. This is how Modi gave a message to the opposition debate on the name change of the country.
Incidentally, earlier the Prime Minister went to Indonesia to attend the ASEAN-India Summit and the East Asia Summit. There too Modi used the word ‘Bharat’ instead of India in the name.
It is noted that in the G-20 conference, the invitation letter of the President was written ‘President of Bharat’ (President of Bharat). Even the Prime Minister writes ‘Prime Minister of India’ instead of ‘Prime Minister of India’ next to his name. Besides, it is also known that the proposal to change the country’s name may be presented in the special session of the parliament called by the government this month. In such a situation, the use of ‘India’ nameplate in the G-20 conference is considered to be particularly significant.
