Congress leader Raja Pateria arrested for his ‘kill Modi’ remarks

Congress leader and former minister Raja Patheria were detained by the Panna police from his residence on Tuesday for his alleged “kill Modi” comments.

A first information report (FIR) was registered at Powai police station in Panna district on Monday afternoon against the Congress leader and former state minister for making comments against the prime minister. Petteria has been booked under Sections 451, 504, 505 (1) (b), 505 (1) (c), 506, 153-B (1) (c) of the IPC.

“A police team went to his house around 5:30 am to inform him of his arrest. Around 7 am they took him to Pawai (in Panna district),” Hata Police Sub Divisional Officer Virender Bahadur Singh told PTI.

On Sunday, former Madhya Pradesh minister Pateria allegedly made controversial remarks at a meeting of Mandalam sector presidents organized by the district Congress committee at the Powai rest house.

In the video that has gone viral, Patheria is heard saying that “PM Modi will “end elections, divide people on the basis of religion and Dalits will face the biggest threat during his rule”. Hatya’ if the Constitution is to be saved… Hatya (kill) in the sense of defeating him.”
