Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched an attack on Congress on Sunday, describing the party as the mother of terrorism in the country.
The UP CM made the controversial remark as he launched several development projects in Kushinagar.
While addressing a programme, the CM called Congress “the mother of terrorism in the country”. He added that people who hurt the country should not be tolerated.
Yogi also accused Congress of insulting the faith in Ram and giving shelter to the mafia.
The chief minister launched the attack on the opposition parties in Kushinagar while laying foundation stones for projects worth Rs 400 crore in the district, shortly after inaugurating the district prison in Sant Kabir Nagar built at the cost of Rs 126 crore.
Adityanath also accused the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party governments of liking “darkness”, after allegedly having failed to ensure proper power supply to people.
“The Congress is the mother of all terrorism in the country,” said Adityanath, adding it “will not get shoulders of even two people after the 2022 assembly elections”.
“Apart from disease, unemployment, mafia raj and corruption, what did the Congress, SP and BSP governments give to the state? Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, there is no place for appeasement politics….Before 2017 was everyone able to get ration?… Earlier those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ digested the ration for the poor,” he said.
Slamming the Opposition parties for appeasement politics and corruption, the chief minister said the people of the state should not tolerate the pro-Taliban, casteist and dynastic mentality that shot at the devotees of Lord Ram.
In contrast, the BJP heals the citizens, helps construct a grand temple of Lord Ram, and sends the mafia to where they belong, added Yogi.
“Nehru did not believe in Ram. Indira ji opened fire on the saints. Sonia ji denied the existence of Ram,” he added.
Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh are set to take place next year.
The BJP won an overwhelming victory in the 2017 Assembly Election, grabbing 312 seats. In the election for the 403-member Assembly, the party secured 39.67 per cent of the vote. The Samajwadi Party won 47 seats, BSP – 19, and Congress – seven.
