Complaint against Amazon over ‘obscene’ Radha-Krishna painting

Boycott Amazon commenced trending on Twitter as Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on Friday claimed that the e-commerce giant was promoting ‘obscene’ artwork of Radha-Krishna. A memorandum was submitted to Bengaluru’s Subramanya Nagar police station soliciting for motion towards the e-commerce giant, the organisation said. The painting used to be also reachable on the website of Exotic India, the enterprise claimed, underneath the Janmashtami sale. Janmashtami was once determined on August 18 and 19.

The Hindu company later claimed that the portray was once removed from the websites ‘quietly’ following the uproar. “But this is now not enough. Both Amazon and Exotic India should gentle unconditional apology and pledge now not to damage sentiments of Hindus ever again,” it tweeted.

Amazon has not yet issued any declaration over the controversy.
