Cognizant has expanded its AI and digital experience portfolio with the launch of an India Artificial Intelligence Lab and Cognizant Moment™ Studio in Bengaluru, aiming to support rapid enterprise adoption of advanced AI systems. The company said this expansion will benefit business centres across India, including Kolkata, where demand for AI-driven transformation is rising among IT, logistics and services companies.
The India AI Lab will deepen research in multi-agent AI, evolutionary AI and trustworthy decision-making while developing proprietary frameworks and reusable AI components. Babak Hodjat, Chief AI Officer, said Bengaluru’s strong engineering talent will accelerate Cognizant’s innovation pipeline through scaled and interoperable multi-agent systems.
The Cognizant Moment™ Studio will help brands redesign digital customer journeys using AI, emotion-driven design and immersive technology. For Kolkata’s digital commerce and fintech sectors, the studio’s capabilities could help companies enhance user engagement and accelerate growth. Cognizant executives said the innovation hub will also partner with universities to advance applied AI research and offer internships for emerging talent. The initiative forms part of the company’s $1-billion generative AI investment announced in 2023.
