On demand of some BJP leaders for a separate state from Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she was ready to shed her own blood, if
needed, to thwart such attempts to make separate the state.
“As elections approach, the BJP is pushing for a separate state… sometimes seeking Gorkhaland, sometimes a separate state for North Bengal. I am ready to give my blood but will never allow partition of the state,” Banerjee said.
“Some people are threatening me, I don’t care. I am not afraid of such threats,” she added.
