The state government will conduct the examination for class 5 and 8 students in all state-run schools.
The decision was taken by the Assam Cabinet on Friday.
According to the decision, if a student fails the annual examination, a special examination will be held for the failed students within two months.
In such cases, the teachers of the institution will take special care of the students so that they pass the examination, however, if the student still fails the said examination, he/she will have to appear again in the same class.
