Cheating case filed: Deepak Tijori claims ₹2.5 lakh fraud

Actor Deepak Tijori has accused two women of stealing ₹2.5 lakh from him after promising to provide financial support for his next movie. He has filed a cheating case against them at the Bangur Nagar police station. According to the police, the two suspects promised Tijori that they would set up a “letter of interest” (LOI) within a week and claimed to be connected to well-known entertainment businesses. But they allegedly stopped answering his calls after getting the money. Tijori, who lives in Goregaon (west) with his family, has been an actor, director, and producer in the Hindi film industry since 1990.

He claims that the fraud happened in February 2025 while he was looking for investors to help raise ₹25 crore for a movie. Last month, Tijori went to the Bangur Nagar police station. Following verification, police filed a formal complaint against Kavita and Fauzia under sections 316(2), 318(4), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). According to a police officer from the Bangur Nagar police station, more research is being done. Kavita and Fauzia have been named as the suspects. They both allegedly claimed to be associates of different, well-known Mumbai entertainment companies.
