The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids on Wednesday at several locations in West Bengal linked to allegations of recruitment irregularities in civic bodies.
The drive targeted 14 municipalities, including Dakshin Dum, Panihati, Kanchrapara, Chinsura, and Dum Dum. The CBI teams also searched the office of the state urban development department in the Salt Lake area, an official said.
According to officials, there were allegations of cash for the recruitment of workers in these civic bodies, for which the search operation was on.
