Siliguri, May 27: In a recent development, NJP police station has arrested a man named Nizamuddin, a resident of Bihar, in connection with an attempt to smuggle cattle. This arrest took place during a raid conducted by the police near Fulbari bypass toll gate adjacent to Siliguri on Sunday night.
Police sources revealed that during the operation based on a tip-off, 26 cows were recovered from a container truck. The cattle were reportedly being moved from Ghoshpukur towards Jalpaiguri.
After the arrest, the accused driver was produced in Jalpaiguri district court on Monday. At present the police is investigating the entire incident.
