The event, held at the hospital, brought together medical professionals and former patients who shared their remarkable journeys of resilience and recovery. The event was attended by esteemed oncologists, including Dr. SwapnenduBasu, Dr. SouravGuha, Dr. Anirban Nag, Dr. ArkoprovoHalder, and Dr. Nishana Paul, among others. The gathering was graced by Chief Guest Mr. DebasisSarkar, founder of the Sky Watchers Association of North Bengal (SWAN), who shared his personal battle with Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. “A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, but I am living proof that with the right treatment, support, and willpower, one can lead a fulfilling life beyond cancer,” he said.
The celebration featured cultural performances, including a solo dance by survivor Dolly Majumdar and musical performances by other survivors. Patients like AmaleshChoudhury from Cooch Behar and BibhabotiBiswas from Jalpaiguri shared their emotional journeys, emphasizing the importance of early detection and strong medical support. Dr. SwapnenduBasu highlighted the significance of awareness, stating, “Early detection is key to successful cancer treatment. Regular screenings and timely intervention can save lives.”
