An Air India Express plane with registration number VT-AXX working flight IX-355 from Calicut to Dubai was diverted to Muscat.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the flight was diverted once during the cruise when a burning smell was detected from a vent in the forward galley.
This is one of the many incidents of technical glitches faced by flights to and from India.
Just a day ago, an incident of hydraulic failure was reported from an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Kochi. All passengers and crew were safe.
On the same day, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Vadodara was once again diverted to Jaipur due to a vibration in the engine. The DGCA has provided diversion as a precautionary measure and has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
In other incidents of technical glitches this month, a SpiceJet flight from Dubai to Madurai was delayed after a Boeing B737 Max aircraft’s nose wheel malfunctioned.
