Boost up for Delhi Capitals as David Warner lands in Mumbai

Australian opener David Warner joined Delhi Capitals on Sunday for the ongoing IPL.

He arrived late this season due to Australia’s series in Pakistan and will complete his 3-day quarantine before joining his teammates and support staff.

“Delhi Capitals’ batter David Warner arrived at the team hotel on Saturday. Warner is currently undergoing a mandatory 3-day quarantine before stepping out of his room,” the Delhi-based franchise said in a statement.


It will be a homecoming for him, who started his IPL journey in 2009 with the Delhi franchise. After 13 years, he returned to represent the team in 2022 with full experience, lots of runs and winning the IPL title with Sunrisers Hyderabad. .

He is the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5286 runs, is also one of the most destructive openers across the format and will be keen to make a mark from the word go for DC.


After opening their campaign with a win over Mumbai Indians, Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals were beaten by Gujarat Titans by 14 runs in their second IPL 2022 game in Pune on Saturday. They will face Lucknow Super Giants in their next match on April 7 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.
