Bison entered the area, Panic spread in Pahargumiya tea garden of Naxalbari

Naxalbari, September 06: Panic spread in Pahargumiya tea garden of Naxalbari when a bison strayed into the area from the nearby forest. The presence of the big animal has created fear among the tea workers of the area.
The incident occurred on Friday morning when the bison entered Pahargumiya from the Bagdogra forest area, causing panic among local residents. On receiving the information, ADFO Rahul Deb Mukherjee of Kurseong Forest Department reached the spot along with personnel from Bagdogra, Tukriyajhar, Ghoshpukur Range and Sukna squad.
The bison has been kept under surveillance, and foresters are actively trying to get it back into the wild. ADFO Rahul Deb Mukherjee confirmed that efforts are underway to safely return the animal to its natural habitat.
