Siliguri, August 28: As part of the 12-hour statewide bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members took to the streets in Siliguri to enforce the bandh.
In support of the bandh, BJYM members burnt tires at Jalpai More, causing a temporary traffic jam. Due to the protests, traffic was disrupted for some time in the area.
Police immediately intervened to control the situation, removed the burnt tires from the road and restored normal traffic flow.
