BASF has launched two new herbicides, Facet and Duvelon, to support rice and tea farmers safeguard their crops from invasive weeds. The new launches will be of help to the farmers as the control of problematic weeds is one of the key challenges for farmers growing rice and tea in India, preventing them from harvesting high-quality produce.
Facet delivers efficient and reliable weed control. The pioneering solution is powered by BASF’s active ingredient, Quinclorac, in a specialized formulation. It has a mode of action different from many prevailing rice herbicides. Duvelon powered by Kixor Active is an innovative solution for effective weed management in tea. It helps to control a variety of broadleaf weeds. It can be applied post emergent for direct application in tea gardens. Facet is formulated for application in rice fields, and the formulation of Duvelon is optimized for the use in tea plantations. These latest innovations offer farmers in India a reliable solution for weed management.
Business Director, Agricultural Solutions, South Asia, Rajendra Velagala said, they are proud to offer growers in India two innovative herbicides, Facet for rice and Duvelon for tea. These novel herbicides in India are a testament to BASF’s commitment to innovation and sustainability of Indian agriculture. “We are convinced that by providing farmers with effective and sustainable solutions, we can support them to meet the growing demand for food while reducing the impact on the environment”, he added.
