Bagdogra International Airport has joined hands with Uber to provide enhanced transportation services for passengers. With a rise in traffic, reaching over 30 lakh passengers and a 22% increase in air traffic over the past year, this collaboration aims to ensure seamless travel to and from Siliguri, the gateway to the Eastern Himalayas.
As part of the partnership, Uber will offer dedicated pickup zones at the arrival terminal, along with on-ground assistance and step-by-step guides for riders. This initiative will also provide drivers with more trip opportunities, increasing their earning potential.
The move is expected to have a positive impact on other markets as well, such as Siliguri, where increasing connectivity is crucial for economic growth. Siliguri, a major trade hub, will likely benefit from smoother transit for tourists and business travelers flying via Bagdogra.Shiva Shailendran, Director of Supply Operations at Uber India, noted that this step reinforces Uber’s commitment to improving the travel experience across Indian airports.
