A 42-year-old BJP member was shot dead in east Delhi’s Gazipur area on Wednesday, police said. He was secretary of Mayur Bihar district.
According to the report, Gazipur police station’s beat personnel while patrolling noticed a gathering in Mayur Vihar area. On reaching there, a person was found lying on the road in front of the house with a bullet wound.
People rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Priyanka Kashyap said a case has been registered under appropriate sections and the police is looking for the killers.
