Kolkata is hosting the ABID Exhibition Interiors 2023, an initiative to bridge the gap between Indian products and international products in the post pandemic era. The fair is a celebration of design and creativity, with both national and international participants showcasing their most avant-garde and unique designs. It will provide a platform to Indian exporters and buyers from India.
ABID inaugurated Interiors 2023 at Milan Mela with much fanfare. The Chief Guest was Shri JanabFirhad Hakim, the Honourable Mayor of Kolkata, and Minister in Charge – Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Government of West Bengal. The Guest of Honour was Sri Debashis Sen, MD, HIDCO and Chairman New Town DA and special dignitaries included managing director of Hettich India Andre Eckholt and Architect Ankon Mitra. There are 272 stalls displaying innovative designs, furniture and current trends from both national and international companies. The main display is a 25′ X 25′ gigantic structure made of Aluminium called ‘Origami Installation’.
It combines origami and architecture and will be gifted to the New Town Kolkata Development Authority for decoration and preservation purpose. ABID President Kamlesh Agarwal said, “We are confident that the trade fair will be a great success and provide a platform for networking and business opportunities. “
