Assam Minister urged CAA Protesters not to Disrupt Recruitment Drive

Assam Information and Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika on Thursday appealed to CAA protesters not to create a tense atmosphere during the examination for the massive recruitment drive that will begin next Sunday.

“We may have differences in our ideals, but the state government should not create a volatile environment in the biggest recruitment drive, holding job seekers hostage,” he said.

The state of Assam is gearing up for a major recruitment drive to recruit nearly 30,000-strong staff for Grade 3 and 4 posts in government departments. Candidates of more than 14 lakh are expected to appear in the exam.

Meanwhile, anti-CAA protests have returned to the state.

The state government fears that if there are agitations and protests on the day of the examination, the examination may be disrupted.
