Assam Govt. partners with Alankit to launch ‘Elderline’

To launch ‘Elderline’ (a helpline for Senior Citizens in Assam under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment along with the National Institute of Social Defence), Alankit (a market leader and an eminent name in the finance and digital solutions industry with business segments) has been chosen by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Assam. The toll-free helpline number ‘14567’ will be beneficial for all the senior citizens of Assam.

Alankit will take care of the necessary hardware and software requirements necessary for operating the State Helpline and connecting to the National Helpline framework. Apart from providing Guidance and Counseling, Rescue and Abuse, the helpline will communicate information about various Government schemes and Caregiver Services with the help and support from the Administration. The mission of ‘Elderline’ is to make a positive difference to the lives of senior citizens by creating a reliable National Helpline which acts as a platform for redressing the grievances of the senior citizens of Assam, by providing support and resources that keep older people active, healthy and happy. The helpline is operational in all the 33 Districts of Assam and aiming to reach around 25-lakh Elderly people, which is approximately 7% of the total population of Assam.
