Assam govt bulldozes yet another madrasa following arrests of its Imam, religious leaders

The Assam government continued its crackdown against illegal Islamic institutions with terror links and demolished the third madrasa following the arrest of its Imam and religious leaders on Wednesday.

Visuals surfaced on social media showing several bulldozers demolishing the Markazul Ma-Arif Kwariana Madrasah located at Kabaitary Part-4 village in Assam’s Bongaigaon district.

Reportedly, this is the third madrasa demolished by the Assam government following the arrests of 37 persons including Imam and Madrasa teachers linked with Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

The Secondary Education Board, Assam (SEBA) is conducting the examination with over 14 lakh candidates registered to appear for the examination in three phases of the direct recruitment process, the first two of which were held on 21 August and 28 August.
