Ashoka University launches 2026 undergraduate applications with 500 scholarships for merit and need-based students

Ashoka University, one of India’s premier institutions for interdisciplinary learning in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, has officially opened applications for its 2026 undergraduate intake. The university has announced 500 merit and need-based scholarships, including 200 new merit-based awards, aimed at supporting high-achieving students nationwide.

The 2026 admissions cycle features Special Merit Scholarships for 50 exceptional achievers in national aptitude tests like JEE Mains, IISER Aptitude Test, CMI, and the Indian National Olympiads, offering 100% tuition fee waivers. Additionally, 150 Achievers’ Merit Scholarships will recognize outstanding school board and holistic admissions performance. Need-based scholarships, providing up to full tuition waivers, ensure financial inclusivity for students from varied economic backgrounds. Applications will be accepted across four rounds, beginning October 13, 2025, with assessments conducted at 37 centres across India. Special considerations are in place for applicants with disabilities to ensure accessibility and fairness in the admissions process.

In Kolkata, the city’s students and parents have shown growing interest in Ashoka’s interdisciplinary programmes, with local education consultants noting a surge in inquiries about scholarship eligibility and admissions procedures. Kolkata, traditionally a hub for academic aspirants in Eastern India, is expected to contribute significantly to the applicant pool this year. With these initiatives, Ashoka University continues its mission to combine academic excellence with financial inclusivity, providing opportunities for talented students across the country.
