Arunachal-Assam border dispute to be end by November

In a press conference, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the states’ age-old border dispute with Assam would soon end by November.

Khandu on Monday held a meeting with a high-level delegation from Assam, including Border Security and Development Minister Atul Bora and senior officials.

“One more meeting will be held between me and my Assam counterpart Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma for a final agreement and permanent solution. We are both determined to resolve all our differences by the end of November,” he said.

Also on 15 July Sarma and Khandu signed an agreement to end border issues between the two states and decided to “limit” the number of disputed villages to 86 instead of 123 at Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh.
