West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee was flown to Odisha in an air ambulance by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday and admitted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar as per orders of the Calcutta High Court.
Chatterjee, who is currently Minister for Industries and Parliamentary Affairs in the Mamata Banerjee government, was remanded in ED custody by the Calcutta lower court till Monday.
“After the Bengal minister came, he was admitted to a private ward. After screening of his health condition, the minister was taken to a special cabin,” said an official of the premier medical facility.
According to the report, he was the education minister during the West Bengal government’s teacher recruitment scandal.
