Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia got married in a secret ceremony in 2018. The couple surprised their fans by making a sudden announcement along with wedding photos.
Much before Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi were among the first to surprise their fans with a secret wedding. The couple got married in May 2018, “without dating even for a single day.” They started off as friends, although Angad had liked Neha for years. After so many years of marriage, the couple sat down for a formal interview, showing a glimpse of their playful chemistry.
In a recent interview for Eurosport, where Neha played the role of the interviewer, the couple discussed Angad’s passion for biking. He talked about how movies like Top Gun: Maverick inspired him to hit the open road. “Watching movies like these makes you want to get out there on your bike,” Neha said, to which Angad jokingly replied, “After spending seven years with you, I’m ready to get on the bike and leave quickly.” Neha replied laughingly, “Go ahead, but wear a helmet and don’t speed! Just take your time.” She further added, “The more you want to go, the less I’ll stop you. Don’t expect me to say dramatic lines like ‘No, you can’t leave me’.”
Then Angad playfully interrupted her and said, “I left home early today, just to talk to you.” Neha immediately replied, “Angad, don’t talk about these romantic things during the interview – they are not needed!”
Their light-hearted conversation also included a fun game, in which Angad had to choose one of the two options told by Neha. Throughout the game, he kept skipping the options that included his wife. At the end of the game, Angad had to choose between “painful root canal treatment” or “spending time with his wife”, Angad chose the first option, explaining, “How will you bear the pain?”
The couple got married in May, 2018. Talking about their secret wedding, Neha told Film Companion, “We haven’t dated a day in our lives. I swear! I’m saying this on record: we haven’t dated a day in our lives. We’ve been friends, and we’ve seen each other in different relationships. He’s from the heart, and then, right before I left Roadies, I was like, he’s not bad, he’s amazing. I love him. He’s always had a piece of my heart, but not in that way.”
She further revealed, soon after the switch happened, their families met in New Delhi and the next thing they knew was that their wedding date was fixed. Recalling the experience, Neha called it a “mess”. In November, 2018, the couple welcomed a daughter, Meher Dhupia Bedi, and in 2021, their son, Gurik Singh Dhupia Bedi was born.
