In an interview with The Times of India, Amy responded to rude comments about her appearance, calling them “quite sad”. The actor addressed her reaction to numerous fans who compared her to Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy on how she had changed.
In an interview Amy said, “I am an actor and I take my work very seriously. For the past one month, I have been shooting for a new project in the UK. So, for the role I am playing, I had to be slim down and commit myself completely. The online outrage of the (mainly male) Indian population is quite sad. I worked with male co-actors who had to drastically change their looks for a film and they were highly appreciated for it. The moment a woman does this with unusual hair and makeup that doesn’t conform to their beauty idealism, they think they have a right to troll you. Amy said she’s “over the moon” that many people think she’s ready to prepare her Birmingham accent to respond to the reactions of many users who think she resembles the Picky Blinders actor and Cillian Murphy.
