Amazon India cooperates with the Indian Coast Guard to create work opportunities for ex-service personnel

Amazon India signed an MoU with the Indian Coast Guard(ICG), under Ministry of Defence, to provide ex-service personnel with work opportunities across the company, in line with its commitment towards an inclusive workplace. Amazon India is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in its workforce, valuing unique perspectives and fostering a growth-oriented culture. The company aims to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds, including women, LGBTQIA+, military veterans, and the differently abled, to reach their full potential.

Amazon India has launched a Military Veterans Employment program in August 2019, partnering with the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) to offer work opportunities for military veterans and their spouses across India.

The company has also renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with the Directorate General Resettlement to unlock the potential of veterans and expand its talent pipeline. Deepti Varma, VP, People Experience Technology, Amazon India, Japan & Emerging Markets, asserted, “With the signing of this MoU, we are excited to work with the Indian Coast Guard towards a common goal of creating meaningful work opportunities for our veterans and their families. We will continue to leverage the wealth of experience of military veterans, who are an incomparable addition to Amazon.”
