Activist Teesta Setalvad Gets Bail In “Gujarat Conspiracy” Case From Supreme Court

Activist Teesta Setalvad, in custody since June over allegations of “a conspiracy to destabilize the Gujarat government after the 2002 riots”, today got interim bail from the SC, which said the police had already got ample time to interrogate her.

The court’s tone was steady yesterday with its response when it said there was “no bailable offense in this case on the docket of the court”, that too while “she is a lady.”.

She is possibly to stroll out of the penitentiary tomorrow after completion of formalities.
