9th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival opens for entries, set to impress film industry

The Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF), Northeast India’s premier film event, is back for its ninth edition and is now inviting entries for both competitive and non-competitive categories. Filmmakers across India have until September 30, 2024, to submit their works for the festival, scheduled to take place in Guwahati.

Organized by Tattva Creations and the Brahmaputra Foundation, BVFF has established itself as a significant cultural event, attracting around 25,000 attendees each year. The festival is renowned for its blend of cinematic excellence and interactive activities, including workshops and masterclasses designed to support emerging talent.

In addition to its role in showcasing independent cinema, BVFF’s previous collaboration with Amazon Prime has provided filmmakers with a broader platform for their work. Festival Director Tanushree Hazarika promises that this year’s event will be more vibrant and impactful, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of Northeast India.For the Siliguri market, BVFF’s growing prominence is a notable development. The festival’s expanding reach is creating a buzz among local filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts in Siliguri, who are keen to engage with the festival’s opportunities and showcase their talent on a larger stage.
