A 24-hour total shutdown imposed by civil societies in protest against the blast hit normal life in Moreh, Manipur on Sunday.
A hand grenade suspected to have been lobbed by militants rocked the border town on Saturday night.
There was no report of casualty, however, window panes of a resort was damaged by the impact of the blast.
Though police has collected CCTV footage, no arrest has been made till the time of filing this report.
Soon after the blast, the border town wore deserted as all shops and business centres downed their shutters and people remained indoors.
Denouncing the blast at crowded areas of the town, various civil society based in the border town imposed the shutdown.
During the shutdown, residents of the border town staged sit-in-protest at various places including the site where the blast was triggered.
“Stop terrorism”, “Stop terrorising people”, “We want peace”, “We condemn bomb blast”, etc. read some of the placards displayed at the protest site.
At the concluding part of the protest, they carried out a silent march on the streets across the border town.
