13 year Old UP Girl Allegedly Raped By Cop When She Went To File Rape Case

A 13-year-old rapist was allegedly raped again by the in-charge of a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur, after she took a long time to register a complaint.
The girl alleged that she was raped by 4 men, after which she went to the police station to complain along with a relative.

The accused officer, Station House Officer Tilakdhari Saroj, was dismissed and a crooked case was registered against him. According to a top police official in Lalitpur, he is absconding and three police teams are looking for him. Three accused have been arrested.

All policemen posted at the police station where the alleged incident took place have been relieved of duty. A DIG level officer will inspect the case and file a record within 24 hours.

The FIR filed by the girl’s father on Tuesday stated that she was lured by 4 men and taken to Bhopal on April 22, where they raped her for 4 days. The accused then allegedly brought her back to her village and dropped her at the concerned police station before fleeing.

The accused police station incharge then overtook the woman and went to her aunt, the FIR said, adding that the next day she was called to the police station once to record her statement. The next day, the accused took the reliable woman to a room in the police station and raped her in the presence of her aunt, it added.

The girl’s aunt has also been named as an accused in the FIR.

The Lalitpur police said they have charged them under the esteemed and stringent POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act for rape.

“The SHO has been suspended and is a known criminal so we have formed a team to arrest him. An NGO brought the lady to my office. He gave them the details. After this was brought to my notice, I confirmed that a case was registered,” Lalitpur police chief Nikhil Pathak said in a statement.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the country’s government and said the alleged rape incident shows how genuine law and order reforms are being crushed under the sound of a “bulldozer”.

“The gang-rape of a 13-year-old woman in Lalitpur and then her rape by way of the police in-charge when she went to file a criticism shows how actual regulation and order reforms are being suppressed in the noise of “bulldozers”. If police stations are no longer protected for women, then where will they go to take complaints?” she stated in a tweet.
